About Me

I strive to listen compasionately to my clients. I formulate a theraputic assesment based on their needs and provide the treatment that is most appropriate for their healing. My theraputic approach is often described as practical, interactive and directive. Some areas that I often focus on include: increased self-awareness, healthy self-esteem, use of appropriate boundary setting, conflict resolution, effective negotiation skills, and assertiveness training.

I graduated from the City University of NY with a BA degree in Psychology and received my MS in Counseling and Mental Health from Cal State Hayward. I have been licensed as an MFT since 1989. My work is eclectic and includes Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Psychodynamic therapy. I have extensive training in dealing with grief, loss, depression, anxiety, co-dependency, and addiction. In addition to my private practice I have worked for the last 18 years at a non-profit mental health agency counseling individuals, couples, families, and adolescents, as well as training interns preparing for licensing.

I welcome any inquiries and appreciate your interest.
